Description

This is Derwentcote steel furnace, Built in the 1730s it could produce 10 Tons of steel in a 3 week process called the cementation process, turning wrought iron into steel. It stopped production in 1891 and was restored by English Heritage in 1990. Located in the North East of England and now a national trust property.
