Walking an ancient road, Pompeii

Taken in the ancient ruined city of Pompeii, near Napoli in Italy. Pompeii, a city of around 11,500 people, was destroyed and buried under around 6m of ash From the eruption of mount Versuvius in 79AD. Well preserved under the ash, it was undisturbed for hundreds of years. This is the main entrance into the ancient city with a man in silhouette on the old stone road
